Grapegrowers and Winemakers in the Malibu Coast AVA have been committed to Sustainable Agriculture and Winemaking practices for many years. California has been a frontrunner in protecting the environment, educating stakeholders and consumers, water conservation and sustainability in general. The Malibu Coast Vintners and Grapegrowers Alliance endorses and partners with several groups to educate and promote responsible and sustainable farming and winemaking practices while producing world class wines.
The California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance
The California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance (CSWA) is a nonprofit organization created by Wine Institute and the California Association of Winegrape Growers to promote the benefits of sustainable winegrowing practices, enlist industry commitment and assist in implementation of the Sustainable Winegrowing Program.

California Sustainable Winegrowing Ambassador Course
The California Wine Institute recently launched an online 1hr course intended to provide a clear understanding about the dynamic sustainability movement in the California wine industry. California’s winegrape growers and vintners have a long-term commitment to practices that protect the soil, air and water and benefit communities and employees.
The free, one-hour course includes modules on: California Wine, Sustainable Winegrowing Terms & Definitions, Sustainable Viticulture, Sustainable Winemaking and Employees & Communities. It is intended for wine professionals (retailers, restaurateurs, distributors, media, winery sales, marketing, public relations and hospitality staff) and consumers.
